When prompted choose the automatic installation which will be the right choice for most users.The first thing which hplip-3.16.5.run will do is extracting itself and launch the script hplip-install inside the subfolder hplip-3.16.5.In case you prefix sudo to the command, the installer will notice, display a warning to run it as a normal user instead, and exit.
